However, according to Philips’ latest update, the delivery of newly designed DreamStation sound abatement components will be postponed to September; the replacement arrangement for PR System ONE series will be announced in September, and the replacement arrangement for DreamStation Go will be further announced by Philips. Medical device manufacturer Philips has announced that some of its devices equipping patients with respiratory diseases may present a potential safety issue with one of the components (sound abatement foam), and has issued a Field Safety Notice.

The Department of Health have notified the issue and were awaiting for their guidelines with manufacturer’s advice which are now available. It has not received any reports of adverse events related to using the affected devices in Hong Kong so far and has alerted the Hospital Authority, private hospitals, nursing homes, and medical professionals of the recall today.
